22/02/2011, Christchurch was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale. 11/03/2011, Japan was hit by an earthquake of a magnitude of 9.0 followed by a tsunami. Both of these events have claimed many lives and left many homeless or missing.
Today on The Age, a video was posted of a Christchurch skate crew cruising around the destruction which blew me away. "Filmmaker and Christchurch skater Adrian 'Stunts' Anker-Payne said the quake had destroyed many favourite street skating spots, but created dramatic new ones." Kiwi ingenuity at it's finest.
